On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Surrey will host several events to honor the service, bravery, and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans in observance of Remembrance Day.
“Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to come together and reflect on the steadfast dedication of Canada’s veterans and those who continue to serve,” said Mayor Brenda Locke.
She added, “Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we enjoy and the communities we build. I encourage everyone to take a moment during Veterans Week and on Remembrance Day to reflect and express appreciation for the commitment and courage of our veterans and service members.”
Residents are encouraged to arrive early to find parking or to use alternative transportation methods such as biking or public transit.
The City of Surrey now offers a searchable online map to help visitors locate veterans or loved ones buried in City-operated cemeteries.
