Glenn Close shared, “I don't want to repeat myself because I think I'd be really bored.” Despite the many iconic women involved in Ryan Murphy projects, it’s surprising that Close hadn’t worked with him until now. That changed with Hulu’s All’s Fair.
Close plays Dina, a commanding lawyer at an all-female firm featuring Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, and Naomi Watts among others. She admitted, “I was intimidated until I started to understand the tone. And once I understood the tone, then it became really fun.”
Close reflected on the unique energy of the cast, saying, “To bring all that energy...and all that experience together is bound to create something really unique.” This experience forged lasting friendships:
This group of women, they’ll be my friends for the rest of my life.
What drives Close, besides her talent, is a refusal to repeat roles: “I’m basically up for anything as long as it represents a new exploration.” She will soon appear in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which premieres the same week as All’s Fair. Close commented humorously, “I got two Ryans in the same week. It was like, what?”
