Dozens of Animals Rescued from Central Falls Home Linked to Woman’s Death

The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA) reported that dozens of animals were rescued from a home in Central Falls connected to the death of a woman.

According to investigators, the RISPCA removed a total of 50 neglected animals — including four dogs and 46 cats — from a residence on Central Street. Officials confirmed that at least two of the cats are pregnant.

Police stated that 24-year-old Erica Bader was discovered dead in a wooded area in Pawtucket last week. Evidence indicated that her body had been moved there after her death, leading authorities to link the Central Street home to the case.

“These animals didn’t have food or water. The place was covered in feces and reeked of ammonia — a tough situation,” said Wayne Kezirian, president of RISPCA. “People who accumulate many animals often don’t realize they’re overwhelmed. The conditions were so bad that we had to wear masks.”

Officials told NBC 10 News that the animals will be transported to RISPCA’s facility in East Providence, where they will receive veterinary care on Tuesday.
