As Canadians come together to honour soldiers on November 11, several Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place across Metro Vancouver. These events provide opportunities to reflect on the service and sacrifice of veterans from past and present generations.
Victory Square hosts Vancouver’s oldest ongoing annual Remembrance Day ceremony, first held in 1924. The service remains a cornerstone of the city’s commemorations.
Other communities in Metro Vancouver also hold their own Remembrance Day events, including parades, receptions, and moments of reflection. New ceremonies are added as they are announced throughout the region.
“It’s an important time to pay respects to those who have served — past and present.”
November also brings a range of local activities, such as Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and the Lights by the Lake Holiday Festival, adding brightness to the season.
