Channel 10 is bringing back the vibe of the early 2000s with the new season of Big Brother. The show returns to its original location at Dreamworld, where the first 11 seasons were filmed from 2001 to 2014.
New host Mel Tracina explained the significance of this move:
“The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right.”
The show will feature live nominations and evictions, staying true to its roots. However, fans hoping for the adults-only version—Big Brother Uncut—will be disappointed.
“This year there’s no return of Big Brother Up Late (or Uncut),” Tracina said. “We’re keeping it PG.”
Viewers can watch the house activity via a 24/7 live stream, which will be moderated to meet broadcast standards.
“Again, that will be moderated to make sure that everything we broadcast is up to broadcast standards,” Tracina added.
Many Gen X and Millennial viewers who once enjoyed the adults-only content will likely be disappointed, as the new season opts for a family-friendly approach.
The new season of Big Brother returns to its classic Dreamworld setting with a family-friendly format, excluding the adults-only Big Brother Uncut.
