The iconic reality series Big Brother Australia is making a comeback on Channel 10 in 2025. The new season promises excitement and an unexpected mix of contestants from different walks of life.
Host Mel Tracina shared some teasers about the upcoming season, noting that participants represent a wide age range spanning five decades.
“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan,”
She added that the cast includes both blue-collar and white-collar workers, reflecting a mix of experiences and personalities.
Big Brother Australia first aired in 2001 and ran for eight seasons before ending in 2008. Channel Nine revived the series in 2012 for three seasons, followed by five more seasons on Channel Seven. The show was canceled in 2024 due to declining ratings.
On September 16, 2024, Network 10 officially confirmed the return of Big Brother, promising a renewed format and fresh energy.
“You don’t need to fit certain criteria to be in the house,” Mel said. “You don’t need to be physically or mentally strong like on Survivor, or single like on MAFS.”
The 2025 revival of Big Brother Australia on Channel 10 brings a fresh and inclusive approach, with a diverse cast and renewed enthusiasm for the iconic reality show.
