Lindy Waters Hosts Event to Inspire Native Students Toward Higher Education

Oklahoma’s Lindy Waters, an NBA player for the San Antonio Spurs, is leveraging his platform to encourage Native students to seek higher education through a dedicated event.

Preparing for the Upcoming NBA Season

Waters shared updates about his preparations: “I've been busy. Getting ready for the season with the San Antonio Spurs. I had a great camp, had an eye appointment and unfortunately they found a couple of small tears but we got that repaired. Hopefully, can make my return in the next week.”

Supporting Native Students Through His Foundation

Waters and his foundation are organizing an event to immerse Native students in the college experience, aiming to motivate them to pursue higher education opportunities.

“We're trying to be able to use my platform to expose them to higher education... I would want someone with the same stature, or platform to provide that for me if I was younger,” Waters said.
