Shafali Verma struck her first ODI fifty in three years during the Women's World Cup final on Sunday, leading India to 106/1 against South Africa at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Opening alongside Smriti Mandhana, Verma built a 104-run partnership before Chloe Tryon dismissed Mandhana for 45 in the 18th over. Jemimah Rodrigues then joined Verma at the crease as India pursued their maiden World Cup title following a rain delay of more than an hour.
