On November 1, Jessica Simpson marked eight years of sobriety with a heartfelt Instagram post, reflecting on her journey and growth.
Jessica shared how alcohol affected her life negatively, writing:
"Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency."
She emphasized the importance of her decision:
"8 years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self-sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing."
Jessica expressed the power of faith in her recovery:
"I’m so happy I chose faith over fear. It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender."
She added,
"Today I am clear. Today I am driven by faith. Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see."
Earlier this year, Jessica revealed that sobriety profoundly influenced her songwriting. During 2016 and 2017, despite working with major hitmakers in Los Angeles, she withheld some songs because they 'just didn’t feel like me.'
Jessica Simpson credits sobriety and faith for restoring her intuition, fueling her purpose, and transforming her personal and creative life.
