Trick-or-treaters on St. John had no trouble finding candy this Halloween. Many gathered at Mongoose Junction and the Trunk-or-Treat event held in the gravel lot in Cruz Bay.
Parents accompanied their children down the main staircase at Mongoose Junction, where they met Raven Phillips of Bajo El Sol, who handed out candy.
"Those who arrived before 5 p.m. received free books from the Little Free Library."
Jeannie Bishop helped distribute books, while Phillips observed. A young fisherman showed interest in the book table. Janet Cook-Rutnik, who assisted with the books, dressed as a character from one of her favorite Eric Carle books.

As night approached, most children moved to the gravel lot for Trunk-or-Treat, where adults created spooky scenes in the trunks of their cars. Jennifer Costanzo and Tessa Chilson from Moms Who Trunk set up one such display.

The event combined candy hunting with festive decorations, creating a memorable evening for the local community.
