City of Calgary Animal Services Reduces Adoption Fees for November

This November, Calgarians can adopt a new furry family member at a reduced cost. The City of Calgary’s Animal Services Centre is lowering adoption fees for cats and dogs all month to help more animals find loving homes before winter.

Adoption Fees

"Every adoption gives an animal a second chance and opens space in our shelter for others who need help," says Kathleen Dickson, Coordinator of Animal Care and Clinic Services. "We hope this price reduction encourages more Calgarians to come meet the incredible pets waiting for homes."

All animals adopted from Animal Services are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked, and come with a one-year City of Calgary pet license. This ensures pets are healthy, identifiable, and ready to safely begin their new lives.

Winter Pet Care Reminder

"If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them," adds Dickson. "Bring pets indoors, ensure they have warm bedding, and limit outdoor time when temperatures drop."

Adoptions happen at the Animal Services Centre, located at 2201 Portland Street S.E., open seven days a week.

Author’s summary: Reduced November adoption fees aim to boost pet adoptions, offering healthy, vetted animals a fresh start while reminding pet owners to keep their companions warm this winter.
