Heritage Foundation Faces Backlash Over Defense of Tucker Carlson

WASHINGTON — The Heritage Foundation, one of the most prominent conservative think tanks in Washington, D.C., is facing internal turmoil following its president’s public defense of Tucker Carlson. The controversy erupted after Carlson hosted white nationalist Nick Fuentes on his show, sparking outrage among senior staff members.

“I’m disgusted by this,” said one Heritage staffer.

Internal messages reviewed by The Post revealed that several high-ranking employees expressed feelings of embarrassment and frustration toward president Kevin Roberts’ decision to support Carlson. They described the move as “ridiculous” and “premeditated.”

“I’m disgusted by this and don’t understand how this premeditated and orchestrated response could come out of one of the biggest think tanks in the world,” wrote one staff member.
“The most embarrassed I’ve ever been to be a Heritage employee. It’s not close,” another added.

Nick Fuentes, aged 27, has previously denied the Holocaust and voiced antisemitic views. During the two-hour conversation, which has already gained over 17 million views on X, Fuentes described himself as “a fan” of Soviet leader Josef Stalin and spoke against the influence of “organized Jewry” in U.S. politics.

Tucker Carlson, in turn, accused American Christians who support Israel of being heretics under the sway of a “brain virus.”

Kevin Roberts, 51, released a video statement on October 30, three days after the interview aired, criticizing the broader conservative movement for attempting to “cancel our own people.”
