Major political alliances in Kochi have nearly completed seat-sharing negotiations for the upcoming local body elections. Only a few minor details remain to be settled before formal announcements are made.
Left Democratic Front (LDF)
The Left Democratic Front has reached an internal accord that awaits official declaration. The arrangement closely mirrors that of 2020.
- CPI will contest eight seats
- Kerala Congress (Mani) three seats
- Nationalist Congress Party two seats
- Janata Dal two seats
- Indian National League one seat
The CPI has been granted the Thrikkanarvattom and Girinagar divisions instead of Pachalam and Ayyappankkavu, where it had previously struggled to gain ground.
