The Silesian University of Technology, a public technical university in Gliwice, proudly announces that its Student Science Club and the club's supervisor have been nominated in the prestigious nationwide “StRuNa” competition. This event attracts about 30 representatives from Polish universities competing for awards in each category, making the distinctions highly valuable.
The “StRuNa” competition is regarded as the most respected contest for student science clubs across Poland. On average, 33 teams compete for a single prize, highlighting the achievement of those nominated.
Students from the Faculty of Architecture, who participate in the Urbanmodel Student Science Club, developed a unique educational game titled The Metropolis Game. This game promotes awareness of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis and helps users grasp its complex urban realities.
“The Metropolis Game” is designed for a broad audience, beyond architects. It encourages public transport usage, supports more sustainable urban development, and incorporates quizzes related to Silesian traditions and language.
The game was developed under the guidance of Dr. Hab. Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology.
Among the nominees for the scientific supervisor award in the “StRuNa” contest is Dr. Eng., reflecting the expert leadership behind the students' project.
