Winners of the 3rd CINEMO International Mobile Film Festival Announced
The winners of the 3rd CINEMO International Mobile Film Festival were honored at the Nizami Cinema Center, according to Azernews. The festival ran under the motto “Fikir çəkmə, telefona çək!” (“Don't think too long – shoot on your phone”).
Festival Organization and Goals
The CINEMO Film Festival was organized with support from the Azerbaijan Culture Ministry, the Azerbaijan Film Agency, and the company SBRLY. Having grown into an important cultural event in Azerbaijan, it aims to:
- Encourage youth creativity
- Promote mobile filmmaking
- Enhance skills in shooting and editing with mobile devices
- Discover new talents among young filmmakers and mobile videographers
- Promote social values and foster creative connections between emerging artists
Festival Highlights and Growth
Ruslan Sabirli, the festival's founder and director, highlighted at the ceremony that this year’s edition broke records with nearly 100 films from 33 countries, double the number of submissions compared to last year.
“Over three years of the festival’s existence, a Google search for CINEMO Film Festival yields over five million results, demonstrating the rapid growth of international interest in the project,” said Sabirli.
Jury Members
The award ceremony included members from both the international and national juries. The international jury consisted of:
- Yusuf Sheikh (India) – Producer and chairman
- Hatice Oksuz (Turkiye) – Visual designer
- Ashraf Shishir (Bangladesh) – Director and screenwriter
