A fire broke out early Thursday morning at the Miami-Dade residence of Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. The blaze started shortly after the team returned from a four-game road trip.
According to reporters Milena Malaver, Carl Juste, and David Neal of the Miami Herald, firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire around 5 a.m. ET, about 25 minutes after Spoelstra and the team landed from Denver. The property, purchased in 2023 for $6.6 million, sits on a 43,000-square-foot lot and features five bedrooms, a pool, and tennis courts.
"Firefighters battled the flames for over four hours," the report stated. "Fortunately, there were no injuries."
Despite the extensive damage, no one was harmed. The Heat organization has not yet released a detailed statement regarding the incident.
