The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 will start on November 7, featuring 12 teams competing in this fast-paced, six-a-side cricket tournament.
This tournament began in the 1990s to give Hong Kong’s cricketers and fans exposure to international cricket, even though Hong Kong is only an ICC Associate Member. Unlike one-off exhibitions, it evolved into an annual international event allowing players to participate freely.
The Hong Kong Sixes were held from 1993 to 1997, then from 2001 to 2012, had a brief return in 2017, and was relaunched in 2024.
All matches in 2025 will take place at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. The group stage uses a single round-robin system, with the top two teams from each pool moving on to the quarterfinals.
The tournament then proceeds with a knockout stage, where teams face single-elimination matches. Teams eliminated from the main knockout round will compete in bowl and plate fixtures to determine their final rankings.
India will be led by Dinesh Karthik. However, the team will miss Ravichandran Ashwin, who is sidelined due to injury.
