Record stores hosted Ego Nite events to mark the official vinyl release of Hayley Williams’ third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. Alongside the celebration, Williams unveiled “Showbiz,” a new surprise track completing the album’s expanded version.
Following previous additions “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” the song enriches the record that initially consisted of 17 tracks released over the summer through her label, Post Atlantic, and distributed by Secretly Distribution. The track was co-written and produced with Daniel James, Williams’ long-time collaborator who contributed throughout the entire project.
“I wanna do it again, I wanna dance in the strobe lights, I wanna choke on the smoke, and feel your eyes on me.”
Through these lines, Williams recalls a fleeting romantic encounter caught in the atmospheric haze of a club, reflecting on shared emotions and uncertain meaning. The accompanying visualizer highlights Nashville’s skyline and includes the familiar hand-drawn motifs that appear across the album’s artwork.
During the global Ego Nite celebrations, fans experienced exclusive album playbacks, merchandise, and limited physical editions of the LP. These events emphasized the album’s transition from digital release to collectible vinyl form.
