Actor Timothée Chalamet traveled to Michael Heizer’s monumental Land art installation, City, located in the Nevada desert, for a Vogue photoshoot with photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Measuring one and a half miles long and half a mile wide, City opened in 2022 after decades of construction beginning in 1970. It is considered one of the most mystique-rich artworks of this or any century.

Chalamet praised photographer Annie Leibovitz during the shoot at City. He described her work ethic and dedication to her craft.
“Annie is an absolute beast. Sometimes when people become so ubiquitous or iconic, you can lose sight of how much effort goes in. She’s the first one up at 5:30 a.m. You’re coming downstairs, and she’s poring over materials.”
