Rugged schedule, Steph Curry’s illness force Warriors to take early precautions

Rugged Schedule and Steph Curry’s Illness Prompt Early Precautions

Head coach Steve Kerr has ruled out point guard Steph Curry for Wednesday’s game in Sacramento due to illness. Despite playing through a cold during the Warriors’ 118-107 win against Phoenix, Curry’s condition worsened.

"I don’t care what the doctors say, we got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now, he’s not going to play tomorrow.” — Steve Kerr

Curry admitted his illness affected his performance but initially hoped to play in the second game of the back-to-back. Kerr, however, swiftly made it clear resting Curry was a priority.

The Warriors (5-3) will also likely be without star wing Jimmy Butler, who left the Phoenix game at halftime due to lower back soreness that worsened during play.
