The upcoming NBC comedy Stumble gives viewers a hilarious yet charged look at the world of cheerleading. Coach Courteney Potter, played by Jenn Lyon, finds herself struggling to whip her new, disorganized squad into shape after a major professional setback.
The show, inspired by Netflix’s hit docuseries Cheer and featuring Monica Aldama in a notable role, follows Courteney as she tries to restore her coaching reputation at a new school.
In an exclusive preview clip, Courteney faces one of her toughest challenges — getting her ragtag team to perform in sync. When a brawl breaks out on the mat, she steps in and commands:
“Hey, cut it out! We don’t have time to be dealing with this kinda nonsense.”
Her frustration grows as the team’s attempt at a human pyramid collapses, prompting another sharp outburst:
“Knock it off! Ya’ll can’t even throw a simple pyramid. How ya’ll gonna compete at Daytona, huh?”
After trying to maintain composure while scolding team members Steven (Ryan Pinkston) and Dimarcus (Jarrett Austin Brown), Courteney tearfully ends practice:
“Practice is over.”
The meltdown scene concludes on a comic note when Courteney retreats to the candy button factory — a running gag in the series — humorously described as “open every day except Christmas and Tuesdays.”
In Stumble, Coach Courteney Potter’s fiery leadership collides with her team’s disorder, creating a sharp, funny glimpse into the chaos of competitive cheerleading.
