Pakistan thrash Kuwait to lift Hong Kong Sixes 2025 trophy

Pakistan Thrash Kuwait to Win Hong Kong Sixes 2025

Pakistan defeated Kuwait by 44 runs to claim the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 title at Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok. The victory was fueled by explosive performances from Abdul Samad and Abbas Afridi.

Dominant Batting Display

Batting first, Pakistan started aggressively with opener Abdul Samad hitting a six off Yasin Patel’s second ball. Patel struggled early, conceding three wides in the first over. Khawaja Nafay contributed with a six on his first delivery, helping Pakistan rack up 26 runs in that opening over.

Kuwait fought back when Meet Bhavsar dismissed Nafay for 22 runs off six balls, bringing the score to 33-1. However, Pakistan's skipper Abbas Afridi soon revitalized the innings, striking two consecutive sixes.

Samad maintained the momentum with a boundary and another six in the third over, pushing Pakistan past 50 runs in just 2.2 overs. By the end of the fourth over, Pakistan was strong at 95-1, mainly due to Samad's powerful hitting and Afridi's support.

Late Wickets and Afridi's Heroics

Bhavsar struck again to dismiss Samad after an impressive 42 runs off 13 balls. Shahid Aziz then fell for a duck, leaving Pakistan at 95-3. Maaz Sadaqat steadied the innings with a boundary before Afridi smashed an extraordinary 52 runs off only 11 balls, hitting seven sixes and pushing Pakistan to a formidable total of 136.
