Developer Embark Studios is addressing server challenges faced by Arc Raiders players over the weekend. Anyone who logged into the extraction shooter on November 2 will be granted 500 Raider Tokens as compensation.
The official Arc Raiders account on X acknowledged the server difficulties, stating,
“We appreciate your patience as our servers had a wobble on Sunday, Scrappy must've pecked a few wires loose, he's been put on the naughty step 🐓. As a token of our thanks, we're sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday.”
SteamDB reported that on that day, the game reached a new peak of 354,836 concurrent players on Steam. This milestone followed Arc Raiders breaking a Steam record for extraction shooters with PvP. Considering the game is also available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store, the total player count is even higher than Steam’s numbers alone.
Arc Raiders experienced server problems not only on November 2 but also during its launch on October 30. While server hiccups are common for multiplayer games at launch, this reflects strong player interest. The release timing between Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 also highlights Embark’s strategic decision.
Embark has announced that Arc Raiders will not include "novelty" skins, choosing instead to focus on the core aesthetic experience of the game.
Author's summary: Embark Studios compensates Arc Raiders players with in-game tokens following widespread server issues, emphasizing genuine gameplay over cosmetic extras.
