ANAHEIM — The government shutdown may have ended, but the Winnipeg Jets remained grounded on Sunday night at Honda Center. The Anaheim Ducks continued their remarkable run with a 4-1 victory, staying the NHL’s hottest team.
Rookie Beckett Sennecke netted his first two-goal game, while Leo Carlsson added two power-play tallies to seal the win.
“I heard about the losing days from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.
The Ducks have now won seven straight, their longest run since 2021–22 when they recorded eight consecutive victories. They’ve taken nine of their last ten games, including wins over the 2025 Pacific Division champion Vegas Golden Knights and the previous year’s Presidents’ Trophy winners.
During this streak, Anaheim also defeated the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions twice, a Western Conference finalist, and another 2025 playoff team.
Next, the Ducks head to Denver to face the Colorado Avalanche in a clash between the NHL’s two best clubs by points percentage.
“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew our schedule was full of tough teams, and we’re showing why we belong among the top,” added Sennecke.
Leo Carlsson is now tied with Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks for second in league points, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.
Author’s Summary: Ducks extend their dominance with a seventh straight win, as Sennecke and Carlsson power Anaheim past Winnipeg and closer to NHL elite status.
