The former Duke of York, 65, has been confined to the royal residence since losing his royal titles due to his association with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein last month. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, seem poised for a quiet evening after a delivery of champagne was observed at Windsor's Royal Lodge.
Andrew, who has strongly denied all accusations, was officially stripped of his prince title and the HRH style by King Charles through a rare Letters Patent issued on Thursday. He is also being required to leave Royal Lodge, the 30-room home he shares with Fergie in Windsor, for a residence on the Sandringham estate as soon as possible.
Though the exact timing of Andrew’s departure is unclear, he appears to be enjoying his remaining time there, evidenced by a substantial delivery of champagne arriving at the residence on Saturday. Several boxes of Devaux Champagne were unloaded from a Majestic Wines van outside the gates of the Grade II-listed mansion and brought inside.
Despite residing at the property for over 20 years, Andrew and his ex-wife reportedly spend much time apart, sleeping at opposite ends of the house and only coming together during meals to converse.
"The former duke has been 'ranting to himself' and 'rarely goes out,' while Fergie has taken refuge at a secret bar behind the mansion," said a source close to the couple.
This situation highlights the isolation and tension surrounding the couple following recent royal developments.
