Power Outage Affects Jenison Schools and Bauer Road
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office reports that a section of Bauer Road is closed near 20th Avenue due to downed power lines. Drivers are asked to avoid the area while repair crews from Consumers Energy work to restore power.
Jenison Public Schools stated that both Jenison High School and Jenison Junior High School are operating on a two-hour delay as a result of the outage affecting the campus.
“The campus of Jenison High and Jenison Jr. High School are impacted in this outage,” said the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Consumers Energy’s outage map, approximately 1,110 customers are without electricity. The cause of the incident is listed as storm damage.
