Lindsey German reflects on the Gaza ceasefire and a new phase for the movement.
It was incredibly moving to see Palestinians returning to what was left of their homes in the Gaza Strip, which has suffered more bombing in two years than London, Dresden, and Hamburg combined during World War II.
A massive pro-Palestine demonstration in London, with 600,000 marching, brought a sense of hope for improved lives in Gaza and a determination to continue campaigning for solidarity with Palestinians.
The lives of the people of Gaza would improve, they would not face imminent death from bombing or starvation, and they could begin to rebuild their lives.
