American country music artist Drew Baldridge commended two Australian men for stepping in to protect a female McDonald's employee from a verbally abusive customer in Melbourne.
During his tour in Australia with Jelly Roll, Baldridge shared viral footage showing a distressing event where a woman working at McDonald's was harassed and spat at by a customer.
“Wrong country if you want to abuse women,”
one of the men said as they restrained the assailant on the ground.
Posting the video on his social media with the caption “Never abuse women,” Baldridge called the men's intervention “so inspiring to watch.” He described how the man repeatedly insulted the staffer, spitting at her after his order was wrong.
“He probably said it like five times and I was starting to get frustrated. And I was like, ‘Bro, you need to calm down. You don’t talk to women like that.’”
According to Baldridge, other men in the restaurant soon confronted the customer, leading to him being pinned down.
“Hey bro we don’t talk to women like that.”
Baldridge's account highlights the importance of standing up against abuse and applauds those who take action to protect vulnerable individuals.
