Franklin, 32, has proven his resilience by going the distance with both Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua between November 2022 and April 2023. Although he lost both bouts, he was never knocked down or stopped.
After four fights in 2024, Itauma has competed only twice this year, maintaining his reputation for quick finishes. His second-round TKO of Mike Balogun in May was followed by a devastating one-round victory over Whyte in Riyadh three months later.
Although initially rumored to return on December 13, Itauma will delay his comeback by six weeks to continue his knockout streak.
Franklin enters the fight with a three-win streak following his loss to Joshua, but this matchup marks a significant rise in competition.
Author’s summary: Moses Itauma will headline the Magnificent 7 event on January 24 in Manchester, facing the experienced Jermaine Franklin in a pivotal heavyweight clash.
