Unable to Wake Male Passenger, Driver Calls Police — Turns Out He Was Just in a Deep Sleep, False Alarm

A foreign male passenger fell into a deep sleep on a bus, with other passengers noticing he was slumped forward and unresponsive and attempting to wake him. The bus driver stopped the vehicle and called for an ambulance. When emergency personnel arrived, the passenger woke up, and it was confirmed that he was only deeply asleep, not unconscious—a false alarm.

According to a report by HK01, a video circulated on social media showed a foreign male passenger dressed in a suit and wearing a Bluetooth earpiece, sitting in the lower cabin of a public bus, head down, holding the same posture from the moment he boarded, and not reacting, causing concern among fellow passengers.

Other passengers attempted to rouse him, and the bus driver called out “Hello” and patted him on the arm. The male passenger did not respond. The driver apologized to the passengers, saying, “Sorry everyone, it seems this passenger might be having an issue,” and proceeded to dial 999 to call the police.

Author’s summary: The incident ended as a false alarm after a passenger was found to be deeply asleep, not unconscious, following the driver’s call to authorities.
