Lithuanian trucks remain unable to exit Belarus into Lithuania, according to Erlandas Mikėnas, head of the Lithuanian National Road Carriers Association Linava, who spoke to Elta as reported by Delfi. “On the Lithuanian side everything is functioning normally, but something is happening on the Belarusian side — contradictory information is circulating,” Mikėnas said.
Unconfirmed reports suggest several trucks managed to leave through the Šalčininkai border crossing. Regarding Medininkai, payments for parking are being accepted, but the electronic queue announced yesterday has been cancelled. Everyone who paid is being placed in a new queue, though it is not certain that trucks are actually being let through, the Linava head noted.
Erlandas Mikėnas added that problems also affect trucks entering Belarus from Lithuania. “I know of a car carrier that entered Lithuanian customs and was cleared, but after reaching Belarus it was forced to wait because Belarusian officials did not know how to process it, even though car carriers are allowed to travel to Minsk,” he said.
Lithuania recently reopened two border crossing points with Belarus ahead of schedule.
