The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has adjourned to review an application for a witness to testify behind closed doors.
Advocate Matthew Chaskalson, Chief Evidence Leader, submitted the application citing the sensitivity of the information expected to be presented.
However, media lawyer Charles Du Plessis, representing News24 and Daily Maverick, opposed the application, and has been given until 13:00 to submit written arguments.
The commission is expected to deliver a ruling on the application either later tonight or before proceedings resume on Tuesday morning.
The commission investigates SAPS corruption, political interference, and cartel links involving top officials.
