Man Charged with Wanton Endangerment After Firing Gun Near Seven People
Deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office received a complaint on October 8 regarding an incident at a home located at 9793 KY Route 201.
A 41-year-old man, Rocky Darin Harless of Sitka, was taken into custody after firing a gun towards a wall inside the home, where seven people were nearby.
- Harless was charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) with minor injury.
- He was also charged with first-degree wanton endangerment for discharging a firearm.
- Additionally, Harless was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
According to the arrest citation, Harless told police he intended to kill himself but lacked the courage to do so. He also admitted to hiding a gun in a fireplace next to his bed.
