Domestic Violence Fatalities Spike in Ohio
A new report from the Ohio Domestic Violence Network reveals a significant increase in domestic violence deaths in Ohio from July 2024 to June 2025.

- 157 intimate partner relationship fatalities occurred in 108 cases from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
- 95 victims and 62 perpetrators were among the fatalities.
- 75 female fatalities and 82 male fatalities were reported.
- 84% of all fatalities resulted from gun violence, with 144 people shot in 108 cases and only 12 survivors.
- 56% of primary victims killed were people of color.
The Ohio Domestic Violence Network compiles the report using statistics from media reports of intimate partner relationship fatalities.
This is the tenth year of the report, which shows a significant increase from the previous year's 114 fatalities.
