Research from City University of Hong Kong suggests a breakthrough in making green hydrogen commercially viable.
Green hydrogen can provide a clean energy solution to sectors difficult to decarbonize, as it can be combusted at high heat levels without emitting greenhouse gases, leaving behind only water vapor.
Hydrogen can be combusted at high heat levels, much like thermal coal or engine fuel, but instead of emitting greenhouse gases when burned, it leaves behind nothing but water vapor.
Autor's note: Green hydrogen might become viable.
