Indian Motorcycle Ownership Change
US motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycles has undergone a change in ownership.
The sale of a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle by Polaris to Carolwood, a real estate and private equity firm, has been announced.
Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as part of Polaris until the deal is complete, expected to occur in early 2026.
- Manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone motorcycle company.
- The industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland will also transition to the new firm after the deal is finalized.
Polaris will retain a small equity in the company.
No official statement has been provided by the companies regarding the sale.
