Pittsburgh International Airport held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new $1.7 billion terminal ahead of its entry into service.
The ceremony, attended by around 300 guests, including Pennsylvania’s governor Josh Shapiro, marks the start of the countdown towards the new terminal’s public opening, slated for November 2025.
A public trial was held on September 3, 2025, with 300 participants testing the airport’s services and procedures in near real-life conditions. A second public trial will take place before the official inauguration.
