The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) expects to complete the repaving of six miles of the south end of Nevada Avenue, where it becomes Highway 115, by the end of October.
The $10.4 million project, which began this spring, has placed a new layer of asphalt between Brookside Street and the main gate of Fort Carson.
According to KRDO 13's The Road Warrior, who first reported on the repaving in February 2024, crews have achieved a major milestone by reaching the four-way intersection of Highway 115/South Nevada/Cheyenne Road/Southgate Road.
This project is a cause for celebration among drivers who have complained for years about the poor condition of this roadway stretch in the Pikes Peak Region.
The repaving of six miles of the south end of Nevada Avenue is almost finished.
