Navy Sailor Among Two Found Fatally Shot in North Chicago
Federal officials are mourning the loss of a Navy Sailor who was among two people found fatally shot outside a home in North Chicago near Great Lakes Naval Station on Friday evening.
The North Chicago Police Department and Naval Station Great Lakes Fire Department responded to a report of a shooting around 8:08 p.m. on California Avenue in North Chicago.
- Two subjects, a male in his 30s and a female in her 30s, were found shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
- Both subjects appeared to have suffered single gunshot wounds, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Sources said the incident possibly began with an argument involving the two outside of a house, with witnesses reporting that the male was armed with a gun and shot the female victim before shooting himself.
