Bridging Policy and Practice: Policy Workshop on Strengthening Pakistan’s Prevention Frameworks

A policy workshop was held in Islamabad from 7-9 October 2025, focused on strengthening Pakistan's prevention frameworks.

At the closing ceremony, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training in Pakistan, emphasized the importance of engaging youth in preventing extremist behaviors, stating:

It’s critical to engage youth in prevention of extremist behaviors. My ministry & staff are open to any kind of support needed.

Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Program, Rana Mashood, echoed this message, suggesting that cultural exchange and inter/intra-university programs can help reduce differences and promote understanding and peace.

The workshop, funded by the European Union (EU), was organized by UNODC Pakistan in partnership with the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
