Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Announces New First Presidency

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a new First Presidency, with President Dallin H. Oaks as the new leader of the worldwide faith.

During a live broadcast from Temple Square, President Oaks was named the new leader, along with Todd Christofferson as counselors in the First Presidency, the highest governing body in the church.

This announcement comes more than two weeks after the death of President Russell M. Nelson, who led the church since 2018 and passed away at his Salt Lake City home on September.
