The Fresno Police Department will conduct a traffic safety operation on October 18 to reduce pedestrian and cyclist collisions.
The operation will run from 12 p.m. and target common driver violations that endanger people walking or biking, including:
Pedestrians are advised to use crosswalks, stay visible, and be aware of approaching vehicles. Drivers are urged to follow speed limits, avoid blocking crosswalks, and never drive impaired. Bicyclists are encouraged to obey traffic laws, use lights at night, wear helmets, and yield to pedestrians.
The program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
