Excellence in Local Government Awards
Carlow and Kilkenny county councils have been announced as finalists for the Excellence in Local Government Awards, with 13 shortlists between them.
A total of 259 submissions were narrowed down to a shortlist of 98 projects across 16 categories. Kilkenny secured 9 nods, while Carlow received 4.
The two councils will face off in the Municipal Districts Initiative category.

The event is run annually by Chambers Ireland in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
