Castledermot has emerged as the Osprey Hotel and Spa Kildare Reserve D football champion after securing a comfortable win over Rathangan in! Manguard Park on Saturday evening.
The team's eleven-point win was largely uncontested after Castledermot took an early eight-point lead within the first 12 minutes. In ideal conditions, two second-half goals cemented their victory.
Full forward Tadhg Whelan made a strong start, scoring a goal within the first minute. Tadhg Jackman followed with a point, advancing from wing back, and by the fifth minute, Daire Phelan had put Castledermot five points ahead.
Rathangan struggled to launch a significant attack, while Castledermot's offense continued to push forward. Tadhg Whelan had an opportunity for a second goal but his low shot went wide of the post.
