Longtime Director of Family Christian Development Center in Nappanee Retires
Mark Mikel, the former executive director of the Family Christian Development Center, also known as The Center, has retired after serving since 2014.
The Center is a faith-based non-profit organization that provides essential services to the community, including:
- Food pantry
- Rental utilities assistance
- Clothing closet
- Medication assistance
- Baby immunizations for Nappanee, Wakarusa and Wa-Nee Community Schools
“We are the food pantry, rental utilities assistance, clothing closet, medication assistance, and we do baby immunizations for Nappanee, Wakarusa and Wa-Nee Community Schools,”
Mikel says. “And it’s always been based around the belief that sharing Christ’s love is what helps people not just meet their immediate needs but see some change in their lives,”
Under Mikel's leadership, The Center has
“doubled the budget”since he started in 2014.
