RGRTA Receives State Grant for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses
New York state has awarded $17.5 million to the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) to purchase 10 new hydrogen fuel cell buses.
According to
Kathy Hochul, the funding is part of a larger effort to support transit providers across the state.

- Updates to the operations building are also included in the funding
- RGRTA already has 10 hydrogen buses on order, expected to be delivered starting next month
Officials prefer hydrogen buses due to their better fueling time and range, particularly during winter months.
