India Fined for Slow Over-Rate Against Australia

India have been fined 5% of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against Australia in their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup league match.

The sanction was imposed by Michell Periera of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, as India were ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, players are fined 5% of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur pled guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
