Dodgers' Dominance in the League Championship Series
The Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners have achieved something remarkable in postseason play, not seen in 55 years.
According to Sarah Langs, this feat was last accomplished in 1970 by the Cincinnati Reds and the Baltimore Orioles.
- The 1970 Cincinnati Reds took the first two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium.
- The 1970 Baltimore Orioles scored 21 runs and took the first two games against the Minnesota Twins at Metropolitan Stadium.
Both League Championship Series ended in three-game sweeps.
The Orioles then went on to defeat the Reds in the World Series in five games. Hopefully, history will not repeat itself in the same way this time.
