Roberts Bakery Jobs Saved Through Rescue Deal

Over 400 jobs at Roberts Bakery have been saved thanks to a rescue deal with Boparan Private Office.

A pre-pack deal for an undisclosed fee has seen the creation of a new company, Roberts Bakery 1887 Ltd, by private investment firm Boparan Private Office, owned by entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan.

The deal safeguards 433 jobs across two sites and comes after Frank Roberts & Son Ltd, a fourth-generation family business, filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators just over a week ago.

The company produces bread under the Roberts Bakery brand, as well as speciality bread and sweet treats for supermarkets, coffee shops, and more.

No comment from the company or Boparan Private Office was provided.
