Maureen O'Reilly is staging a sit-in to block a bus shelter outside her home, citing concerns over snow clearing and safety issues.
The 71-year-old North Bay resident has been sitting in a lawn chair on the side of Trout Lake Road, determined to stop the construction of the shelter. She believes it will cause problems, saying
"I'm being steamrolled by the city. They have no regard for property owners."
O'Reilly has expressed her concerns to Mark King, CAO John Severino, and city staff in the transit department, but to no avail. She is worried that the shelter's doorway will face her home, putting anyone exiting it just steps away from a bedroom window.
